RABA KISTNER ENVIRONMENTAL ANNOUNCES HIRE OF MARK LUZMOOR, ARCHAEOLOGIST (12/3/2014)
San Antonio Steve Jones, CHCM, Senior Vice President and COO of Raba Kistner Environmental, has announced that Raba Kistner has hired Mark Luzmoor, MA to serve as an archaeologist. Mr. Luzmoor has more than 5 years of experience in archaeology, with a wide range of experience, including numerous archaeological investigations in the Central Texas area.
Mr. Luzmoor was at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) for 2 years before coming to Raba Kistner, first as a graduate student, then as a practicing archaeologist. During his tenure with CAR, he provided archaeology services in Brackenridge Park, San Pedro Park, Mission San Juan, Mission Espada, as well as various projects along the San Antonio River as a part of the Mission Reach project. Of particular note were the significant prehistoric findings during excavations of San Pedro and Brackenridge Parks. Mr. Luzmoor has also worked on the San Pedro Creek project and the HEB Arsenal, both in San Antonio.
Originally from Wyoming, Mr. Luzmoor, received an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Wyoming. During this time, in addition to participating in archaeological digs in Wyoming and Montana, he participated in a field school in Western Belize where he studied the anthropological impact of the ancient Mayan civilization. Mr. Luzmoor then went on to receive his Masters of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
